Avalon shares a seven mile island with Stone Harbor and provides a variety of summer rentals located in this beautiful community. Although many locals live in Avalon year round, the town is typically visited during the summer months.

If you're visiting at the end of July and early August, you may be able to get a glimpse of Floatilla, a Mardi-Gras celebration that often takes place on July 31 or August 1. Participants float in the waterways on brightly colored rafts resulting in a lot of fun for tourists and a lot of frustration for residents.
